Two mates. One shitbox car. 3400km. Zero mechanical skills. What could possibly go wrong?
In 2027, we're taking on the Shitbox Rally, driving a car worth no more than $1,500 from Port Augusta to Townsville for one incredible reason - to help raise money for Cancer Council.
Our team name, "All the Gear, No Idea," couldn't be more accurate. We've got big plans, questionable mechanical knowledge and just enough confidence to think this is a good idea. We might not know exactly what we're doing, but we're ready for the adventure, plenty of questionable decisions, a few wrong turns, and hopefully a car that makes it to the finish line!
Every Shitbox Rally team must raise at least $5,000, with every single dollar going directly to Cancer Council to fund vital cancer research and support. That's what this rally is really about.
This cause is especially close to our hearts. Like so many families, ours has felt the impact of this disease, and that's why this journey means so much to us.
Whether you're donating because you believe in the cause, want to support us, or just want to see if our car actually survives the trip - we're incredibly grateful. Thanks for jumping on board and helping make this adventure one to remember.

They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
