Team: Norfolk 'n' chance - Jacqui Smith and Rob Warren
We're thrilled to announce that we're taking part in Shitbox Rally 2027 - Autumn, driving a car worth $1,500 or less from Port Augusta to Townsville over seven unforgettable days.
On the surface, it sounds completely ridiculous. Thousands of kilometres, rough roads, outback dust, questionable mechanics, and a car that many people would have sent to the scrapyard years ago.
But the rally isn't really about the car.
It's about raising money for a cause that touches far too many Australian families.
In honour of all family, friends and loved ones who have faced a cancer diagnosis, and in loving memory of Jennie Rice, we want to do our small part to help fund the research that gives hope to future generations.
Every team participating in Shitbox Rally is required to raise at least $5,000, with every dollar donated going directly to Cancer Council to fund vital cancer research. Research funded through Cancer Council has helped improve prevention, early detection and treatment, giving more families precious time together. And yes, there is a tax receipt for a tax deduction!
Whether you can donate $10, $50 or $100, every contribution makes a real difference. If you're unable to donate, sharing our page with friends, family and colleagues is another fantastic way to support us.
We're prepared for breakdowns, wrong turns, long days and plenty of laughs along the way, but it will all be worth it knowing that the kilometres we travel are helping to support a much bigger journey, the fight against cancer.
Thank you for helping us turn an old car, a big adventure and a lot of determination into something that can genuinely make a difference π

They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
