We’re super excited to announce that we’ll be taking part in Shitbox Rally 2027 – Autumn!

In true Shitbox Rally style, we’ll be hitting the road in a car worth $1,500 or less, tackling an epic 7-day adventure from Port Augusta to Townsville. While the journey promises plenty of laughs, challenges, and unforgettable memories, we’re taking part for a much bigger reason.

After completing the Mystery Box Rally in 2025, we fell in love with the Australian outback and the incredible experience of taking on an adventure that had always been on our bucket list. But our motivation for joining the Shitbox Rally runs much deeper.

Cancer has touched our lives in a very personal way. We lost two very close friends, Brendon and Dawn, whose friendship and impact on our families will never be forgotten. This rally is our way of honouring their memory while helping fund life-saving cancer research, so that one day fewer families have to experience the heartbreak of losing someone they love.

Every team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000, with 100% of donations going directly to Cancer Council to fund vital cancer research and support those affected by cancer.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a genuine difference. We’d be incredibly grateful for your support as we take on this adventure, remembering Brendon and Dawn every kilometre of the way ❤️ ❤️

PORT AUGUSTA TOWNSVILLE 3,400 km in a $1,500 car OTWAY BEER MATES

Otway beer mates are driving a $1,500 car from Port Augusta to Townsville to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
