Retired Sirens & Spreadsheets take on Shitbox Rally Autumn 2027
G'day everyone,
You may know us as Team Reincarnation. Well, we've had a bit of a makeover and for Shitbox Rally Autumn 2027 we'll be rolling out under our new name:
Retired Sirens & Spreadsheets.
The name may have changed, but the mission certainly hasn't.
In April 2027 we'll be heading off on our 9th Shitbox Rally, pointing the bonnet from Port Augusta to Townsville and spending seven days testing the limits of both an old car worth less than $1,500 and our ability to make sensible decisions.
This time we'll be travelling in our latest rally chariot, Merv the Mazda. Merv is a proud member of the Shitbox fraternity and, like his owners, is showing a few signs of ageing but still has plenty of kilometres left in him.
Our job is to get Merv to Townsville.
Merv's job is to get us there.
History suggests one of those things is more reliable than the other.
Over the years we've driven some of Australia's most iconic roads. We've crossed the Nullarbor, tackled the Birdsville and Oodnadatta Tracks, rattled every nut and bolt loose on the Gibb River Road, crossed the mighty Pentecost River and watched countless outback sunsets from places most tourists never reach.
Each rally leaves us with memories, stories and friendships that last a lifetime.
It also leaves us wondering how our cars survived the trip
But the truth is, this journey has never really been about the car.
It's about the people.
Cancer has touched our family, our friends and our community. Like so many Australians, we've stood beside loved ones during their fight, remembered those we've lost, and celebrated those who continue to inspire us every day. We believe that cancer can't have the last say.
That is why we rally.
Every kilometre travelled, every fundraiser held, every can collected and every donation received helps fund vital cancer research through Cancer Council.
Each team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000, but if you've followed us over the years you'll know we don't tend to stop at the minimum.
Whether it's $5, $50 or $500, every donation helps researchers move one step closer to better treatments, better outcomes and, ultimately, a cure.
So once again we're asking for your support as we load up another questionable motor vehicle and set off across Australia for a cause that means so much to us.
Together we're not just driving a Shitbox.
We're driving hope.
We're rallying in memory of those we've lost, in support of those still fighting, and in hope that future generations never have to hear the words:
"You have cancer."
Their Memory Drives Us.
Rally. Ripple. Repeat.

Retired Sirens & Spreadsheets are driving a $1,500 car from Port Augusta to Townsville to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
