We’re Jacqui & Lesley, and we’re incredibly excited to share that we’ve been accepted into the Shitbox Rally 2027 – Autumn!
In 2027, we’ll be driving a car worth $1,500 or less from Port Augusta to Townsville via the heart of Australia’s Red Centre—all to raise vital funds for the Cancer Council.
For us, this is so much more than an epic road trip. It’s deeply personal.
On 31 December 2024, Lesley was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML)—just five weeks after her dad, Ken, received the same devastating diagnosis. Tragically, Ken passed away on Australia Day this year. Despite undergoing a bone marrow transplant, Lesley’s transplant failed just 100 days later. Because of her specific genetic mutation, there is currently no cure, and treatment options are limited to extending the time she has with those she loves.
That’s why we’re taking on this challenge.
Every kilometre we drive, every bump in the road, and every dollar we raise is dedicated to funding life-saving cancer research. We want to help create a future where more families have hope, better treatment options, and ultimately, cures.
Each Shitbox Rally team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000, with 100% of every dollar donated going directly to the Cancer Council to fund cancer research.
Whether you can donate, sponsor us, share our page, or simply cheer us on, your support means the world to us. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring us one step closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
Thank you for joining us on this unforgettable journey. Together, we can turn an old car into something truly extraordinary.

Shitbox Sheilas #2 are driving a $1,500 car from Port Augusta to Townsville to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
Directly to Cancer Council.
Box Rallies is the largest funder of cancer research in Australia — outside of the government. Every dollar supports Cancer Council.
