We're thrilled to announce that we're taking part in Shitbox Rally 2027 - Autumn!

We’re used to juggling work, family life, two boys and plenty of adventures, but driving a Ford Laser that cost us $700.00 from Port Augusta to Townsville through some of Australia’s most remote and challenging roads is definitely taking things to another level!

When we first heard about the Shitbox Rally, it sounded exactly like the kind of ridiculous adventure we could get behind – a questionable car, thousands of kilometres of rough roads, plenty of laughs and most importantly, the chance to raise money for a cause that means so much to so many Australian families.

Like most people, cancer has touched the lives of people we know and love.

Our goal is simple: raise as much money as we possibly can, make it to Townsville with our shitbox still running and have an unforgettable adventure together along the way.

There will undoubtedly be dust, breakdowns, bad decisions and a few moments where one of us asks “whose Terryble Idea was this?”

We’d love you to follow along and help us turn one "Terryble Idea" into a pretty bloody worthwhile adventure.

PORT AUGUSTA TOWNSVILLE 3,400 km in a $1,500 car TERRYBLE IDEA

Terryble Idea are driving a $1,500 car from Port Augusta to Townsville to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
