Our story begins in an old house in Williamstown—one built from precast concrete panels, packed with kids, and filled with stories that are still told around the table today.
Those kids grew up, ventured out into the world, made beautiful connections, married, and raised families of their own. The branches of our family tree stretch far and wide—and sadly, like so many families, cancer has touched nearly every part of it.
Some of our loved ones have fought and won. Others are still fighting with grit and grace. And some have been called home, leaving behind memories that are cherished deeply and spaces that will never be filled.
That’s why we rally.
We’re hitting the road for the Shitbox Rally to raise funds for the Cancer Council—because cancer has affected too many of us, and we believe in doing something about it.
We rally in honour of those we’ve lost, in support of those still fighting, and in celebration of those who have overcome. We rally with love, laughter, and a whole lot of heart.
The rally may be rough roads and dodgy cars, but it’s full of purpose and love.
Every participating team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000. Every dollar raised goes directly to Cancer Council and helps fund vital cancer research, which is why we’re doing everything we can to hit our goal. Your support, whether big or small, will have a real impact.
The Kennel are driving a $1,500 car from Port Augusta to Townsville to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
