We're James and Jordi and w're about to undertake our stupidest idea yet.
After doing the rally last year and raising money for a great cause, James had a dumb idea. "what if we run it back?" And as per usual, Jordi couldn't say no to a good time.
And this time we're going BIGGER and LOUDER to spread awareness for a good cause. Over the last year both of us have had life changing news dropped onto us and in our usual fashion, we're trying to turn it into a positive for everyone.
Just 3 years after losing Pop to his battle with prostate cancer, James' 'Ma and Pa' have both recieved renewed diagnosis of liver and breast cancer. While treatments are ongoing, this has led to another brutal battle with cancer for the family and friends.
Although Jordi hasn't has a recent cancer diagnosis, he has still had to battle with heartbreaking losses. After being seperated from most of his family at a young age, the value and importance of the remaining members becomes so much greater and having to learn to live a life without them becomes even more challenging.
Unfortunately we're not alone in experiencing these losses. 43% of Australians are diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime which leads to over 80% of us having a loved one recieve a diagnosis. This is a number that we want to change.
Cancer council funds lifechanging research and care for people living with and battling cancer every single day. This research helps to find new treatments, understandings and potentially even cures against this awful reality.
So we need your help! Every dollar raised goes directly to cancer council and can prevent more people having to live in this experience.
Together we can make a difference!
The Partybox are driving a $1,500 car from Port Augusta to Townsville to raise money for Cancer Council
They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
