We're thrilled to announce that Cristy and I will be taking part in Shitbox Rally 2027 - Autumn! We'll be hitting the road in our $1,500-or-less Shitbox, travelling from Port Augusta to Townsville on an unforgettable seven-day adventure. While the rally promises plenty of challenges, laughs and memories, the real purpose is raising vital funds to help fight cancer.
For me, this rally is deeply personal. I'm participating in memory of my father-in-law, Bo, who sadly passed away from cancer earlier this year, and my Granny, who lost her battle with cancer when I was just seven years old. Cristy is taking part in honour of her Grandma, who passed away last year, and for friends who are currently battling cancer.
This will be my third Shitbox Rally, but my first as part of a team, and I couldn't be more excited. For Cristy, this will be her ninth rally, having completed five as a participant and three as support crew. To say we're passionate about this cause would be an understatement.
Every participating team is required to raise a minimum of $5,000, with every dollar going directly to the Cancer Council to fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and support services for those affected by cancer.
We're committed to doing everything we can to reach and exceed our fundraising goal. Any support you can provide, whether it's a donation, sharing our page, or simply cheering us on, will make a genuine difference.
Thank you for supporting us and helping create a future with fewer cancers and better outcomes for those affected by this devastating disease. ❤️

They're doing what!?
Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.
Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.
The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.
And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.
This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
Donate NowEvery rally. Every dollar.
