Cancer took a swing. We’re swinging back — in a shitbox Suzuki Swift.

We’re Josh and Matt, otherwise known as Vicious and Delicious, and in Autumn 2027 we’ll be taking on the Shitbox Rally from Port Augusta to Townsville! The Shitbox Rally is a challenge where teams take cars worth $1,500 or less across some of Australia’s toughest roads to raise money for Cancer Council.

For us, as for so many people, this one is personal.

We’re high school best mates, and a few years ago cancer became far too real when one of our best friends was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of just 30. This prompted us all to start taking our health a bit more seriously and not long after, during a routine checkup, Matt was diagnosed with a kind cancer. We were extremely fortunate that after successful procedures, both Matt and our close friend came out the other side and have been in remission for almost three years.

Their experiences reminded us exactly why research, awareness, early detection, treatment and support matter so much — and why we want to give something back.

We both love adventure, ridiculous cars, and the kind of stories that start with, “Surely this thing will make it.” So when the chance came up to combine all of that with raising money for Cancer Council, we were in.

So, what about the car?

Introducing our mighty rally car, Smokey B! Smokey B is my fiancée’s first car — a 2006 Suzuki Swift she has owned for 18 years. She’s recently upgraded, so rather than letting Smokey B quietly fade into retirement, we’re sending her off in style: dusty roads, dodgy gear changes, extremely questionable mechanical confidence, and one very worthwhile cause.

Every dollar donated through our page goes to Cancer Council, helping fund vital cancer research and support for people and families affected by cancer. Whether you can give $10, $100, or something more, your support genuinely means the world to us.

For businesses, we’d love to partner with you. Sponsor Vicious and Delicious and we’ll proudly carry your brand on Smokey B as she makes her final heroic journey from Port Augusta to Townsville. It’s a fun, visible and meaningful way to support a cause that touches almost every Australian family.

Please donate, sponsor us, share our page, or cheer on the Vicious and Delicious boys in Smokey B as she attempts one last great adventure.

PORT AUGUSTA TOWNSVILLE 3,400 km in a $1,500 car VICIOUS AND DELICIOUS

Vicious and Delicious are driving a $1,500 car from Port Augusta to Townsville to raise money for Cancer Council

They're doing what!?

Shitbox Rally is a 7-day challenge like no other. Participants drive cars worth no more than $1,500 through some of Australia's most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It's not a race — it's a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that's all part of the fun.

The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way.

And when the day's drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day's achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways — whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we'll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
